First Master's Lyceum class day Fall 2010

You will need to have all the backpacks ready to go and lunches packed on September 17th. Looking forward to seeing you!!

Mandatory Parent Meeting and final registration/Teacher meeting

The Parent meeting will take place on September 7th at 9:30 am or 7:00 pm, choose the time that works best for you. Child care is available.

Teachers will meet right after the morning meeting (usually around 11:30) OR at 6:00 PM. Syllabus and Signature sheets (you will get these at the meeting), and room schematics will be turned at this meeting.

Can't wait to see you all there!

Teacher Registration opens today...

God is good! I think everything is entered and we are ready for teachers to register. If you find mistakes, please let me know so I can correct them quickly. If the registration is open, you will see an 'add/remove classes' by each child's name. If you don't see that hot button, just be patient- we are working on it. :)

"Thank you so much" to each teacher -for your willingness to share your gifts and talents with our kids. If you have a friend who would like to register a little early, I still have several PE slots available... and if no one volunteers for those, we will not have playtime for those who are in unmanned classes this fall.

Catalog and Registration Packet available as a PDF...

Very Exciting News... the catalog and registration packet are now available to you through this website- simply log on and you will be able to see the coveted information any time you like, or even print it off in your own home. Hard copies are also available at the August 12th SCCCHE meeting or from Julie Harrison. If you have any questions, let Julie know.. hhacademy6@gmail.com.

Please remember that any scheduling conflicts entered into the database will take precedence over the catalog information... repeating.... the information that will be entered in the Lyceum database will be the most up-to-date info.

Calling Fall TEACHERS

As preparations begin for Fall - yep, already beginning- teachers need to begin praying and pulling ideas together for the catalog summaries. If you are considering teaching, please pray, and then let me know what God is calling you to share with our kiddoes. I will need class name, age targeted, cost, class sizes, prerequisites, summary and supplies needed by mid June. Class syllabus will not be needed until later in the summer, but please be sure to thoroughly think through your semester, so you can cover your costs. I am so excited to see what God brings us this Fall. If you have any questions, please let me know,

Spring Semester Begins

Friday, February 19th begins the spring semester of Master's Lyceum!!

I hope you have your supplies all gathered, your back packs packed and your little people's clothes all laid out because tomorrow is the day!! I can't wait to see you all!

Be careful coming in the building, there is a a tricky, slick spot in front of the door. Hope to have it all cleared by the time you get there, but wanted to you all to be aware and careful. I pray you have a peaceful, smooth morning as you prepare to come to classes. See you in the morning!

Volunteer Registration

Registration for those willing to volunteer will open tomorrow, Thursday Jan 28th. Don't know the time, but should be up for sure by mid-morning. Just choose your volunteer slot(s) and you should be able to get in and register your children!
Please note there have been some changes in the scheduling AND a few new classes have been added- A Christian view of the Holocaust 1st hour and Hands to Work at lunchtime. You will also notice several more hours of K'NEX, AND an additional classroom of Magic School Bus Science- thanks to all who made those extra options possible!!

If you need password retrieval… the site will send you and encrypted password via e-mail, just enter that and then change your password back to something you can remember once you get in. If you try the wrong password too many times, the security settings will lock you out, just send me an e-mail and I will be happy to unlock you! :)

IMPORTANT: The Mandatory Parent Orientation meeting will be at FBC- Fairview Heights on Feb. 5th at 9:30 a.m. OR 7:00 p.m. This is the best time to attend, as there is extra assistance and computer help available if you need to change your registration.

PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! bring payment in separate envelopes (one for each teacher) with the teacher’s name(and classes), your student’s name(s)- both first and LAST on the outside of the envelope. Also bring 2(TWO) copies of your billing statement for the registration ladies! Following these 2 requests will GREATLY increase the speed at which your personal registration is processed (meaning- you will get out of there much more quickly!!!

OH! If you are willing to supervise a study hall, you may have teacher status. But, you need to be willing to make sure students are working and productive for the hour(s) you choose. If you would like to do this, let me know as soon as you have prayed about it, so I can change your status.

Also, if you are interested in teaching a K'Nex class first hour, third AND/OR fourth hour please let me know TODAY! All the material and lesson plans are available for use, we just need some grown-ups who are called to lead some little ones!

Happy 2010!! Spring is coming~

I hope you all had a restful New Year's celebration! We are moving forward - looking to spring! If you are feeling called to teach, please send Julie your class information by Friday Jan 8th. I will put the catalog together over the weekend and make the copies early next week! Spring semester is TENATIVELY scheduled to begin Feb. 19th. Registration would then be the first week of Feb. (probably the 4th)

Happy CHRISTmas to you all!

I know you all are focused on the wonders of CHRISTmas and the miracles of His season. But I didn't want to move into a new year without saying, "Thanks so much for such an amazing Fall 2009 semester at Master's Lyceum." His eternal grace and blessings amaze me- even in the minor things of Lyceum! Thank you also for all your prayers as planning begins for the Spring 2010 semester!

MANDATORY PARENT(AND TEACHER) MEETING SEPT. 1ST

All parents must attend eith the 9:30 AM or the 7:00 PM parent meeting in order to attend Master's Lyceum this semester. Bring your listening ears and your thinking caps as we have a lot of information to cover. Children may come- there will be a movie room and a 'quiet' room in which to draw or read. Please have your $$ ready, unless you make prior arrangements with Julie Harrison. Checks to individual teacher or cash- each in envelopes labeled with teacher's name will make your registration process go much more quickly :) Looking forward to seeing you all!

Beginning Again..

I am just thrilled with all the buzz and excitement about Lyceum this semester... And since the catalog has come out, we have a couple of new classes... Construction Zone (similar to the Legos class, but for younger builders) taught by Vivien Khong AND a speech class for 5th-8th graders taught by Kathy Johnson.

The on-line registration will open (Lord willing) on August 24th for teachers. If you are willing to choose a volunteer slot before you register, you will able to register on August 26th. If you are unable to volunteer this semester, you will be able to register on August 29th. Classes will begin Setpember 11th and end Novemver 20th. NOTE: THere will be NO Lyceum October 30th.
